Kat: I
would like to thank you for this experience; it was not at all what I had expected. I thought this training would prepare
my horse to ride, and teach me how to ride as well. It was
so amazing the the way you instructed the use of natural training to me with my horse. This
training has allowed my horse and I to work together and form a wonderful bond rather quickly. The one on one training displays your pride in helping others achive their
goals. I never felt uncomfortable, and I stayed there during training for five weeks. Kat, your training has given
me confidence, taught my horse to trust me, and provided me a totally different outlook on life. Many of the strategies you
teach in Natural Horsemanship has enriched my patience and understanding with my wife and friends. What an amazing journey! Thank you so much for this
wonderful traning, Kat. I recommend this Natural
Horsemanship taining to everyone!
Thanks again, Mark
I received horsemanship
lessons from Kat Oliverson . It did not take long to know that there was nothing wrong with my horse, but rather, me. I needed
to change my ways and my thinking if I wanted my horse to bond and trust me so that I could be a leader for him. It takes a lot of work and
time but in the end it is so worth it. I can now walk out in the yard, have my horse see me and have him whinny and come to
me. He wants to be with me and he is always touching me. He would never touch me on his own before. Kat gave me the tools
to understand my horses’ body language; the way he carries his head and his ears and even getting into his space. Now
we ask for permission from each other. I learned to finally have patience and confidence. I watched my horse do the same thing,
he relaxed. He had confidence and patience with his human. It is the most wonderful feeling when you get it and you see your
horse relax and know you have it too. Kat does not expect anything from you, she wants to know what you expect and want for
you and your horse.
Thank you, Karen Paksi
I came
to Kat with a 21 year old Tennessee Walker I’ve had for 10 years. I purchased him as a gaited horse for physical therapy
for myself and I was not aware of a history of bolting. I had been told by a riding instruction that he has a horrible vice
and should be euthanized. After being dumped the last time, I decided to try to sell him, disclosing the bolting issue. I
really didn’t want to sell him and wished I could do more. Besides being spooky at times and the bolting issue, he really
had a lot going for him otherwise. I had heard of Natural Horsemanship before but seriously doubted anything would work except
a harsher and harsher bit. I already had a high port bit on him and was afraid it might also fail to stop him in the future.
I met Kat last fall at a ride and knew she trained using Natural Horsemanship. I e-mailed with my situation and wondered if
she had any ideas. I was intrigued by the method she uses to train the owner to train the horse. I knew from dog training
that if someone else trains your dog, that dog is trained for that person and not you. It makes sense and I knew it was true.
I gave him another chance and starting working with Kat a little over a week ago. I am already seeing changes in this horse,
his attitude and my confidence with him. I am able to do things with him that before I was unable to do. I can’t wait
to get through the next few weeks and I know when I leave I will have the knowledge to continue working with him and have
a much happier horse. Thank you Kat!!! Terri Allore
UPDATE:
After training with Kat, I understand much more about my Walking horse and his issues. For one thing
his saddle was pinching his shoulders, causing pain. When I put his old saddle back on, he wouldn’t
let me get on. Normally I would have forced the issue and end up with him bolting, but I was able to understand the situation
and waited until I was able to modify his pad and use a different saddle. It is this ability to read him better that is helping
us, along with other skills we learned while training. I went from a high port bit to a mullen mouth bit and I can control
him better now. I am able to work both sides of him equally including lunging him on his “bad” side. I have him
doing a slower flat walk now and this is the horse that was nicknamed Amtrack because he only had two speeds before: 1.Very
fast 2. Bolt. I was afraid to use any leg clues before because he took it as “go faster” and now I turn him with
leg pressure only. It has been so interesting to see the changes happen while training and even more now that I continue to
work with him. I am using what we learned plus adding new projects and skills. I found out I have a very smart horse and there
is no limit to what I can teach this old horse! Thank you Kat!!! Terri

When I brought my 4 year old mare to Kat's this summer for training,
she got off the trailer like a freight train. She is what Kat calls a forwardaholic. I have over 40 years experience riding
horses, since I was a child, have done some training and a fair bit of showing and I have never come across a horse that got
the best of me like Priscilla did. Prissy was born on my
farm and was orphaned when she was just a weanling. I raised her, loved her, nurtured her and really, really spoiled her.
Last year, when she was a three year old, I thought I would start her myself. The ground training started out rough and just
got rougher. She didn't respect my space and wanted to be my alpha. I couldn't get anywhere with her! This year it
was either get her trained or get rid of her and buy a well trained horse, but my kids and myself couldn't stand the thought
of parting with her. My farrier recommended Kat and I gave
her a call. that was probably the best phone call I ever made! I was skeptical at first, but the better trained I became,
the better Prissy behaved. I had a lot to re-learn, my old school methods had to go. Kat taught me so much and now I am not
only getting respect from Prissy (with a lot of 'discussions") but I gained some self respect, too. I am now so excited about where Priss and I can go together. With the bond that
Priscilla and I made at her birth and the new bond that we have made at Kat's facility, what a great partner I have! Thank you so much Kat for giving me the tools to enjoy my girl and showing me that I
can indeed "ride pretty". And most of all, thank you for becoming my dear friend
