Wow what a journey this has been for Dave, Harley and I. 237 miles across the state of michigan, on a horse that someone gave to me 4 years ago, who'd a thought that now "today" he is a certified Michigan Trail Horse!
It was a tough row to hoe for Harley, since he was not my first choice to take and I was hustling to get him in condition for this trip. Little did I know at the time, that I could have never got him in the condition needed in time for a ride as rigorous as this one...but Harley with a heart the size of Michigan itself walked me across with a gait so smooth and consistent it would make even the toughest cowboy sit up and take notice. (And I did it naturally with a horseman’s halter the 5th day on)
lets not forget my rig jumper Dave, that was there attending to my every need and getting err done for me! He deserves an atta boy for sure......
we met some great new friends and rekindled some past old relationships, but most of all, I GOT THIS OFF MY BUCKET LIST!!! ya whooooooo
